Do I need an account?
You can try a one-off reflection from the home screen without signing up. To keep a journal, track your mood over time, and chat with Huey, you need an account. Sign-up is free and takes about 30 seconds.
How do I sign in? There's no password.
Enter your email and we send you a 6-digit code and a magic link. Enter the code in the app, or tap the link in your email. On iPhone, use the code rather than the link so you stay inside the app instead of opening a browser tab.
Can I use InnerHue on my phone?
Yes. InnerHue works in any mobile browser, and can be added to your home screen so it opens and behaves like a native app. See the install guide for step-by-step instructions on iPhone and Android.
Can I dictate entries instead of typing?
Yes. Tap the microphone button on the journal screen and speak. Your words are transcribed directly into the entry box. Works on iPhone, Android, and most desktop browsers.
What are tags?
Tags are optional labels you can add to an entry to note what you were doing or what was going on — things like Sleep, Exercise, Work, or Social. Over time, InnerHue uses tag frequency to surface patterns about which activities recur with which moods.
What is a reflection?
After you save an entry, InnerHue generates a short response to what you actually wrote — not a generic affirmation, but a reaction to the specific content of that entry. You can reply to start a short back-and-forth about it. Reflections are optional and can be turned off in the You tab.
Who or what is Huey?
Huey is a small character who lives inside InnerHue. He sits on the right side of the screen and changes colour based on how often you've been journaling. Drag him up or down to reposition him. You can tap him to chat — he knows a bit about your recent entries and can talk about whatever's on your mind. He's not a therapist and not an accountability system; he's just a companion.
What does Huey's colour mean?
His colour reflects your recent journaling activity. More frequent entries shift him toward warmer, brighter tones. It's ambient, not a grade — there's no right or wrong colour to be.
Who can see my journal entries?
Only you. Entries are stored in your account and are not accessible to anyone else. The AI that generates reflections processes your entry text server-side in order to respond, but that text is not stored by the AI provider and is not used for model training. Can I export my data?
Yes. Go to the Insights tab or the You tab and tap Export. This downloads all your journal entries as a JSON file you can keep.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Open the You tab, scroll to Data & Account, and tap Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data. It cannot be undone.
What is the natal chart feature?
A natal (birth) chart shows the position of the Sun, Moon, and planets at the exact moment and location of your birth. InnerHue calculates your Big Three — Sun sign, Moon sign, and Rising sign — plus the full planetary positions for Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. You'll find it in the You tab.
Is birth time required?
No. Birth time is optional. If you don't know it, leave it blank — InnerHue will still calculate your Sun sign, Moon sign, and all planetary positions. The Rising (Ascendant) sign requires an accurate birth time to be meaningful, so it won't appear if time is omitted.
What birth information does InnerHue store?
InnerHue stores your birth date, birth time (if provided), birth city name, the geographic coordinates of that city, and its timezone. This information is stored securely in your account and is used only to calculate and display your chart. It is not shared with any AI model. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
How accurate is the natal chart?
Planetary positions are calculated using standard astronomical algorithms (Keplerian orbital mechanics) and are accurate to within about one degree for most planets — sufficient for determining signs. If your birth time is off by more than a few minutes, the Rising sign may differ from professionally calculated charts. For a fully verified chart, a professional astrologer using dedicated software will be more precise.
What is the Learn tab?
The Learn tab is a reading series called Ideas Worth Sitting With. Each piece takes one verified idea from psychology, neuroscience, or behaviour science and connects it to what your own journal entries might be showing you. Articles are short — four to six minutes — and published regularly. You can also read them at innerhue.app/blog.
Does InnerHue diagnose anything?
No. InnerHue is not a medical or diagnostic tool. Reflections and patterns are observational — they note what you've written and how often, not what it means clinically. If you're dealing with something serious, please speak to a qualified professional.
What AI is used?
Reflections and Huey's responses are powered by Anthropic's Claude. Pattern detection — things like recurring tags or mood trends — is done by plain counting in the app itself, not by AI.
